A really cute spot hidden in mid Santa Monica. Their bagels and Lox can't be beat! Huge plate and both their cream cheese and coleslaw was amazing. Spacious inside, with plenty of room for larger groups. The booths had outlets if you need to do some work and the WiFi was fast and free. My waitress was Angelica and had great recommendations and took wonderful care of us with a smile.

So happy with Fromins Santa Monica. I recently popped in to get their black and white cookies -- made just the way we like them. Whether you're in need of chopped liver or matzah ball soup like your grandma made, you can count on Fromins to deliver. And, they are always friendly and focused on keeping their customers happy. Through the years we have seen so many of the old traditional deli's in the LA area close their doors it's comforting to know there are still some of the original places left -- like Fromins.

We had a delicious lunch Sunday at Fromin's. I had not been here in several years. My chicken soup with Matzoh balls, Kreplach and noodles was rich with a great chicken flavor. I never tasted Kreplach before, and was intrigued that it was filled with ground beef. Maybe not for me but I will always try something new if I can. The breast of chicken pieces in the soup was kind of dry, so maybe they want to work on that a bit. The matzoh ball itself was the size of one and a half tennis balls. Which is to say, very large and very moist and delicious! I couldn't finish it in one sitting. My two friends both had the Reuben sandwich and were very pleased. Each person could only eat one half at lunch. They liked their coleslaw and one had the sweet potato fries and the other head regular fries, which both said were excellent and appeared to be cut by hand. I was happy to see the restaurant was very busy! They clearly have a loyal clientele. Parking there is so easy, too, in the free back lot.

How have I lived in West LA all my life and yet never been here? And why doesn't this place get more stars? The food is great and the servers are super friendly and attentive. The homemade corned beef hash is the bomb with poached egg and toast.

I love a good Jewish deli! I've always used the counter to get a sandwich to go. Their pastrami and brisket is outstanding, the egg salad hit or miss. The counter is fast and easy. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The interior resembles a diner atmosphere, clean and well run. And they have their own parking lot in SM, that's one star alone!

This deli has been here since I've been coming out to LA from the east coast (about 50 years) Jewish delis have been declining in number over the years esp in NYC. Anyway, it has lasted and I'm so glad. It looks a bit worn inside and in need of a makeover but the food is still good. Instead of my usual pastrami sandwich I got the 3 cheese blintzers with sour cream and strawberry preserves. Good but not as good as Juniors in NYC. My cousin had the mish mosh soup which looked awesome. There's a cannon ball size matzo ball, kreplach, noodles and who knows what else in there. Also shared the kasha varnishkas (I'm sure I spelled that incorrectly) It was ok- a bit dry but comes with a brown gravy which was spicy The decaf coffee was surprisingly good. So glad they have persevered all these years. At the counter you'll see some great baked goods and some retro candy.
